Good heavens, what a Shrekingly good time I just had at the cinema! The latest Puss in Boots is way better than it has any right to be, where do I start? Okay so this is a simple little find the thing romp, it starts with a little story saying hey you can get a wish if you find this thing, here’s a map, let’s go. And then Dreamworks smashes it out the park by giving us legitimately well-written, funny characters all in pursuit of this wish. I’ll save more on them in spoiler time, but I just want to say I love Puss so much, is absolute arrogance, the cute little cat stuff always gets me like when he plays with balls of string and drinks milk and stuff, it’s just so good. The animation is awesome, they do that whole Spider-Verse animation during combat where it kind of looks like a moving comic book combined with regular animation, it’s visually interesting and just super cool.
